Italian Leather Types: Full Grain, Nappa, and Suede

Not all leather is created equal. Here is a breakdown of the types we use.

Full-Grain Leather

The gold standard. Uses the outermost layer of the hide. Develops a rich patina over time. Used in our sneakers, bags, and accessories.

Nappa Leather

Full-grain leather treated to be exceptionally soft. Used in our slippers and select handbags.

Suede

Made from the inner side of the hide. Prized for its texture and colour. Our loafer collection is primarily Italian suede.

What Makes Italian Leather Different?

Italian tanneries use vegetable tanning, a slower process producing superior colour, suppleness, and longevity.

How to Spot Quality

Real leather has a natural scent, feels warm and supple, shows natural grain, and has fibrous edges.
